Bunmi Biu - Practice Lead

I am a strategic human resources and organization development consultant with over 20 years of experience as a consultant, practitioner, and educator. I am a storyteller, working with companies to identify and analyze organizational and people vulnerabilities using evidence-based insights to co-create solutions.

My approach is different and so are my results. I believe innovation shouldn't be limited to product development. Employees are the cornerstone of a successful business and a company's people and HR strategy should reflect that.

With that in mind, I integrate business insights with organizational development strategy to create fresh, human-centered solutions that help businesses accomplish ambitious goals. Sometimes this means addressing complex challenges that are an immediate threat to a business. Other times it means predicting and proactively resolving future pain points that will sprout after the next growth milestone.

I work collaboratively with HR departments, C-Suite teams, and functional leaders to create data-informed, actionable plans that effectively address their business objectives.

In addition to executive coaching, I also design programs and workshops in the following areas: leadership, strategic HR, governance, emotional and cultural intelligence (the last one is particularly relevant for companies that are global or aspire to be.)

I have a Ph.D. in Industrial & Business studies from Warwick Business School, an MBA in Finance from Cass Business School, UK, and a bachelor's degree in Insurance from Lagos, Nigeria. My professional certifications include the ACII (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute United Kingdom) and CEMF (Certified Expert in Microfinance, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany).

I teach Global Human Resources as an adjunct professor and research and consulting capstone project advisor on the graduate HRM program at Georgetown University in Washington DC and works with for-profit, not-for-profit, and government institutions on strategic Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness and Development projects.

I am also an accomplished corporate trainer cum business educator, designing and executing needs-aligned organizational and people development training solutions.
